How we pick the businesses we list

We call every business before it goes on the site. Here's what we ask and how we keep the list honest.

What we check

• They answer the phone and they're still in business.
• They actually do the kind of work we list them for.
• They take jobs in Morgan County, and which towns they'll go to.
• They're in good standing, as far as we can tell.

Every listing shows the date we last called. We check back at least every few months and take businesses off if they've closed or quit working the county.

How the list is ordered

Companies based in Morgan County come first. After them come crews from nearby towns who told us they work here. Each group is in ABC order. Nobody can pay to move up.

Where the stars come from

The star ratings and review counts come straight from Google Maps every time the page loads, so they always match what Google shows. We don't change them or pick which ones you see.

Ads and our own service

Getting listed is free. If we ever sell an ad spot, it will say Sponsored.

We also run Morgan County Land Clearing, a quote service for land clearing. When it shows up on this site, it's labeled, and it's never mixed in with the listings.
